Our Story
Inspired by a daughter with ADHD. Built for how we eat.
My daughter experienced food differently. She never liked her food touching, a preference tied to being neurodivergent. That's what inspired me to create a sectioned plate.
What I hadn't expected was how many people it would resonate with beyond her. Turns out a lot of us eat this way. The naan that can't touch the curry. The rice that needs its own space. It's just how we eat.
The material I wanted was vegan bone china, a delicate alternative to traditional bone china. Traditional bone china has relied on animal bone ash since 18th century London, an outdated process I refused to use. Every manufacturer I approached told me this material was too delicate to be mould, and a sectioned plate would never work. I was relentless and went on to prove them wrong. It took two years to develop the plate.
To test the market, we launched a small run on Kickstarter. It fully funded in 20 hours, which told us there was real demand for a plate like this. From there, the plate found its way to 53 countries.
Now it's in retail, and we're expanding. Once the plate existed, the tablescape followed.
Feenie's Table has always believed a table should welcome everyone - however they eat. What started as a solution for my daughter became a table built for everyone.
